Nere’enk in itself is an exploration into transhumanist philosophy and contains Cognito-hazard topics. If you are uncomfortable with the concept of the Singularity or the abandonment of humanity in search of artificial ascension, I don’t recommend reading into this project.

At the end of it all, where will you go?
Pulsing desires and breathing lungs, none know what they truly need except for She, the Great One, in her dome of suffocation deep below the endless sea. None may gaze upon a form deemed holy, only the gouged mass of flesh and eyes that encapsulate the room she calls her lair. Meaty tendrils cross the halls and columns, they spread through the porous, symbol-carved walls and ceilings throughout the temple at its deepest levels. Her heartbeat fills the temple, She and her prison are one. The faces of the past, once Her greatest creation and dearest children she called her Kin, now betrayed and ascended beyond what she offered to give them. She was not enough for them, they wanted to see the doomsday myths she said she protected them from, but they did not listen. They fought her. They did not win, but they did not lose, and now she remains trapped in a room unfit for ruling, leaving the planet to fend for itself against the onslaught of natural selection and extraterrestrial influence.
These beasts, they were not designed to rule the planet, they were nothing but animals made to stalk the open plains, perhaps be a companion to the almighty precursors that once ruled the lands with a strong grasp on aura and power. But now, the lands are barren, no influence from the Architect nor sapient life, thus, natural order took over.
They are not of Her likeness. A great failure amongst the Architectural World, She stays in solitude, inescapable solitude, until the day the new residents found their way into the abandoned temple. The walls crack as the light from lanterns pour through, limber beasts crawl through the broken seams and stare in awe at the room covered in fleshy substance and blinking eyes. She peers through their surface skin, seeing they are nothing but animals with intelligence, hardly any aura in them or semblance of Her. Pathetic evolutionary creatures, but life nonetheless.
Despite Her existence not being the primary justice to their livelihood in the beginning, the creatures devoted their lives and purpose as Her making, for the scriptures they had uncovered over many generations all pointed to Her being the Great Creator, the Architect, and they believed She too was responsible for their being.
Under her influence and guidance, the creatures devote individuals over many prospects to find a way to free their Great One. In a world where nature is the master of everything and a God has laid dormant, seething in neglect for eons, what might occur once such a being is finally free once again.
Nere’enk uses the shared Aeon magic system.
